How Sessions Work

Sessions can be held in-person in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, or virtually for people anywhere in Texas or Washington state.

Adult Individual Therapy

Individual sessions are 50-minutes and typically weekly or twice weekly. Once adequate rapport has been established, sessions can taper to bi-weekly or monthly based on how the therapeautic process is progressing.

Couples Intensives

An intensive format works best for couples who need to address the core issues quickly. Fast change or decision making is a necessity.

Intensives are offered over two days:

-Day one: an hour joint conversation, an hour separately for each partner, and two hours back together

-Day two: three hour joint conversation and processing, with the option of 1:1 conversations if needed

Intensives are recommended for in-person only.

Family Therapy

Family therapy can take various shapes and forms based on the individual needs. Typically we start with a 60-minute individual session with each family member followed by a series of 90-minute sessions at the frequency and duration needed by the family. An intensive format can also be designed on a case by case basis.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy sessions are 60 or 75- minutes, per the couple’s preference. It is advised that weekly sessions take place during the first month to establish rapport and to give adequate time to identify the core process at play. During the first month I meet with both partners individually to gather background family of origin information. Typically couples meet twice monthly on an ongoing basis.

Trauma Intensives

Adults wanting the time and space to safely explore their trauma history can benefit from a trauma intensive. The two days allows for containment of the painful stories and the space to offer and practice healing interventions.

The intensives are offered over two days at three hours each day.

Intensives are recommended for in-person only.
